An МВА (Master of Business Administration) is the most popular post-graduate course in the world. Each year about 90 000 students in the US and more than 10 000 students in Great Britain receive this degree.
The first MBA programme was created in the US in early 1900s. After great success in America, London University took up the idea and established London Business School. Later on, the majority of leading universities in Great Britain and Europe established their MBA programmes.
Today, an MBA is one of the most well-known, popular and expensive business managerial programmes. You can get your MBA if you have a university degree and a few years of work experience behind you already.
In the US full-time programmes usually take two years to complete, whereas in Europe they can be as short as 10 month and as long as 2 years.
An MBA broadens your horizons and gives you a better understanding of the business world. In Europe, the average age for full-time MBA students is 27, while the average age for those enrolled in part-time or distant courses is 34. In 2000 the MBA Association conducted research by polling its 1300 members about their reasons for studying for an MBA. The question was “Why did you decide to study for MBA?” and students answered as follows:
To get better qualification 82% To improve employment opportunities 79% To expand business contacts 77% For the intellectual challenge 70% Higher salary 67% To get general knowledge/training 64% Career change 61%
An MBA degree is every young manger’s dream and, most students choose to do an MBA in order to get that senior position later on and, to develop their basic managerial skills. Statistically, the salary of those who have an MBA increase 1,5 to 3 times.
Some choose to do an MBA in hopes of changing their career path while others do it to gain the knowledge necessary to start their own business. Still, others do it for the sake of prestige (which does indeed come with having your MBA).
MBA training gives you a more complex and complete understanding of business, how to organize your knowledge and, it developes your general skills. MBA graduates have the background needed to work anywhere in the world. They have the advantage of knowledge of international management standards and practical business skills. Many Russian managers go for their MBAs in order to find employment abroad later on. Those returning to Russia normally find work in higher positions in the representative offices of foreign companies (in which you will hit a career ceiling quite early on without an MBA).
All MBA programmes have their own peculiarities. The General MBA programme is the most popular, according to “Study & Training Abroad” magazine. This is exactly the sort of the programme we offer.
Our programme has all the advantages of a modern business education and it allows our students to receive both Russian and foreign diplomas. It is no secret that Russian MBA has not been recognized by Russian employers but, it simply is not possible (for various reasons) for many Russian managers to go abroad for 10 – 12 months in order to obtain a foreign Executive МВА.
We hope that our MBA programme will meet your needs and give you everything that you are looking for in your education!
